Jeanna is a variant of Jean or Joanna, ultimately derived from the Hebrew name Yochanan. It signifies the belief that God has been merciful or gracious in granting a child. While it gained some popularity in the mid-20th century, it remains a rarer alternative to the more common Jenna or Jeanette.
