Gracious; yew tree
Iva has two distinct etymological paths. In Slavic traditions, it is a feminine diminutive of Ivan, meaning 'God is gracious.' Separately, in Germanic and French contexts, it is related to the yew tree, often symbolizing longevity and regeneration.
