Life, bird, or beautiful breath
Aiva is a modern name with multiple possible roots. It is often considered a variant of the Hebrew name Eva, meaning 'life', or the Latin Avis, meaning 'bird'. In some Baltic traditions, it is associated with the word for a quince tree or 'breath'.
