Variation of Itzel, meaning Star of the Aurora Sky
Ithzel is a modern variant of the Mayan name Itzel. It is often associated with Ixchel, the Mayan goddess of the moon, love, and gestation, though in modern usage it is frequently interpreted as 'star of the aurora sky' or 'rainbow lady'.
