Ingris is a rare variant of Ingrid, derived from the Old Norse name Ingiríðr. It combines the name of the Germanic fertility god Ing with 'fríðr', meaning beautiful or fair. While Ingrid is the standard form, Ingris appears occasionally in Spanish-speaking communities and Northern Europe.
