The Lord is my God
Ilya is the Russian and Slavic form of the Hebrew name Elijah. It stems from the biblical prophet who was known for his devotion and for being taken to heaven in a chariot of fire. While traditionally masculine in its cultures of origin, its vowel-heavy sound has led to occasional unisex use in English-speaking countries.
About 38 boys were named Ilya in 2025.
