Grace or favor
Hanne is a Scandinavian and German diminutive of Johanna or Hannah. It ultimately derives from the Hebrew name Yochanan, meaning 'Yahweh is gracious.' While common in Northern Europe, it remains a rare and sophisticated choice in the United States.
