Spear ruler
Gerod is a rare variant of the Germanic name Gerald. It is composed of the elements 'ger', meaning spear, and 'wald', meaning rule or power. While it shares the same roots as the more common Garrett or Gerald, Gerod has remained a distinctive and uncommon choice in the United States.
