Gabino is a Spanish name derived from the Roman cognomen Gabinus. It originally served as a locational name for someone from Gabii, an ancient city in the Latium region of Italy. In the Christian tradition, it is associated with Saint Gabinus, a 3rd-century martyr and the father of Saint Susanna.
