Ettie is primarily a diminutive of Esther, meaning 'star', or Henrietta, meaning 'estate ruler'. It emerged as a standalone name in the late 19th century, carrying a sweet, vintage charm. While rare today, it shares the same 'antique-chic' appeal as Hattie or Millie.
