The pilgrim
Derived from the Arabic title 'al-Hajj', which is given to a Muslim who has successfully completed the Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca. In West African cultures, particularly in Senegal and Mali, it is frequently used as a formal given name to honor this religious milestone.
