White, noble, or from the river Elbe
Elba has multiple potential roots, most notably from the Latin 'albus' meaning white. It is also associated with the Germanic name of the river Elbe and can serve as a variant of the Germanic name Elva, meaning noble or elf. The name is famously associated with the Mediterranean island where Napoleon was exiled.
