Tenth; or referring to the Southern United States
Originally derived from the French word for 'ten', the name became synonymous with the American South. It likely gained popularity via the 'Dixie' line or ten-dollar bills issued by the Citizens' Bank of Louisiana which featured the French word 'dix' on the reverse.
