Derived from the Sanskrit word 'Dhriti', it represents one of the virtues in Hindu philosophy signifying fortitude and moral resilience. It is often associated with the ability to remain steady and focused under pressure. In Vedic literature, it is personified as a daughter of Daksha and a wife of Dharma.
