Follower of Dionysos
A French variation of the Greek name Dionysios, referring to the god of wine and revelry. It was popularized by Saint Denis, a 3rd-century martyr and the patron saint of France. While common in Europe, it remains a rare alternative to the more popular Dennis in the United States.
