Camil is a variant of Camillus, a Roman cognomen likely of Etruscan origin. In ancient Roman rituals, a Camillus was a youth who assisted the priests during sacrifices. It is also used in some cultures as a masculine form of Camilla or a variant of the Arabic name Kamil, meaning perfect.
