From Britain
A variant spelling of Brittany, referring to the region in northwest France or the island of Great Britain. It originally denoted people from the Celtic tribe of Britons who migrated to the Armorican peninsula. While the spelling with two 'n's and one 't' was a common variation during the name's peak in the 1990s, it remains less standard than the original.
