House of figs or house of affliction
A variant of the biblical place name Bethany, which is a village near Jerusalem. It is often interpreted as 'house of figs' or 'house of affliction' in Hebrew. The spelling with an extra 'e' was popularized in modern times by reality television personality Bethenny Frankel.
