House of figs or house of affliction
Bethania is the Latin and Greek form of Bethany, a village mentioned in the New Testament as the home of Lazarus, Mary, and Martha. While its exact etymology is debated, it is most commonly interpreted as 'house of figs' or 'house of affliction' from Hebrew roots. It offers a more melodic, international alternative to the classic English Bethany.
