Aubin is the French form of the Latin name Albinus, derived from 'albus'. It was historically associated with Saint Aubin of Angers, a 6th-century bishop known for his charity and opposition to incestuous marriages among the nobility. While rare in the United States, it remains a sophisticated and softer alternative to more common names like Alban or Austin.
