Soldier or army man
Armondo is a variant of Armando, which is the Spanish and Italian form of the Germanic name Herman. It is composed of the elements 'hari' meaning army and 'mann' meaning man. While less common than the 'a' spelling, it retains the same strong, martial connotations.
