Manly and brave
Andry is a variant of Andrew, derived from the Greek name Andreas. It shares the same etymological root meaning 'manly' or 'masculine,' signifying strength and courage. While rare in the United States, it is a common form in Madagascar and parts of French-speaking Africa.
About 30 boys were named Andry in 2025.
