Mother or spiritual grandmother
Amma is a cross-cultural name found in several languages. In many West African cultures, particularly the Akan people of Ghana, it is a day name for girls born on Saturday. In Sanskrit and various South Indian languages, it is a term of endearment for 'mother' or a spiritual matriarch.
