To the moon; pupil; or a people
Aluna has multiple potential origins. In Spanish, it is often interpreted as a contraction of 'a la luna' (to the moon). In the Kogi language of Colombia, it refers to a spiritual concept of the mind or 'the Great Mother' who created the world. It also appears as a rare variant of the Hawaiian name Alana.
