Precious, noble, or handsome
Allyn is a variant of Alan, likely derived from the Breton word for 'noble' or 'precious'. It may also have roots in the Alans, an Iranian nomadic tribe that migrated to Western Europe in the 4th and 5th centuries. While traditionally masculine, this spelling has gained some unisex appeal in the United States.
