Defender of mankind
A rare variant of Alessandra, the Italian feminine form of Alexander. It is derived from the Greek name Alexandros, composed of 'alexein' (to defend) and 'aner' (man). While less common than the single-L spelling, it retains the same regal and powerful etymology.
