Liberator of men
Derived from the Greek elements 'lysis' meaning 'loosening' or 'release' and 'aner' meaning 'man'. It is the feminine form of Lysander and was notably borne by several queens and princesses of the Ptolemaic dynasty in ancient Egypt.
