Noble sort or of noble birth
Alicent is a rare medieval variant of the name Alice, which ultimately derives from the Germanic name Adalheidis. It combines the elements 'adal' (noble) and 'heid' (kind or type). While it fell out of common usage for centuries, it has recently gained recognition through modern fantasy literature.
