Defender of men
A rare variation of Alexander, derived from the Greek name Alexandros. It combines 'alexein' (to defend) and 'aner' (man), signifying a protector or guardian. While less common than the Italian Alessandro or the English Alexander, it offers a distinctive, cosmopolitan flair.
Fewer than 5 boys were named Alessander in 2025.
