Alegandro is a rare phonetic variant of Alejandro, which is the Spanish form of the Greek name Alexander. It is composed of the elements 'alexein', meaning to defend or help, and 'aner', meaning man. While much less common than its traditional counterpart, it retains the same strong, protective etymology.
