Noble, wise, or bright
Akelah is a modern variant of the Arabic name Aqila, meaning 'wise' or 'intelligent'. It is also frequently associated with the Germanic name Akila, meaning 'noble'. In recent years, it gained recognition through its phonetic similarity to the name of the protagonist in the film Akeelah and the Bee.
