Zonnique is a modern American invention, likely created by combining the prefix 'Zon-' with the French-inspired suffix '-nique' (as in unique). It gained public attention through the American singer Zonnique Pullins, whose mother, Tameka 'Tiny' Cottle, has stated the name was intended to mean 'only child' or 'unique'.
