Yoshua is a phonetic variant of the Hebrew name Yehoshua, which is the source of the names Joshua and Jesus. It shares the same etymological roots meaning God is my salvation or God delivers. While less common in English-speaking countries than Joshua, it is frequently used in Spanish-speaking and Jewish communities.
