The underworld; or my joy in Yoruba
In Japanese mythology, Yomi is the land of the dead, often associated with the Shinto tradition. Alternatively, it is a common diminutive for Yoruba names like Abayomi, meaning 'my joy' or 'he brings me joy'. In a Western context, it is often chosen for its short, melodic sound.
