Mother whose children are like fish
In Yoruba mythology, Yemaya is the powerful Orisha of the living ocean and the mother of all living things. She is often depicted as a protective, nurturing figure associated with the sea and fertility. Her name is a contraction of the Yoruba phrase 'Yeye omo eja', which translates to 'Mother whose children are fish'.
