Yelina is a Spanish-influenced variant of Jelena, which itself is a Slavic form of the Greek name Helen. It carries the same etymological roots associated with brilliance and illumination. While rare in the United States, it is occasionally used in Spanish-speaking communities and Eastern Europe.
