Yaniya is a modern variant of the name Janiya or Janiah, which is an elaboration of Jane or Jan. It ultimately derives from the Hebrew name Yochanan, meaning 'God is gracious'. While rare, it follows the contemporary trend of adding melodic prefixes and suffixes to traditional roots.
