Tiegan is a modern variation of the Irish name Tadhgán, a diminutive of Tadhg, meaning 'poet' or 'philosopher'. It is also frequently associated with the Welsh name Tegan, derived from 'teg', meaning 'fair' or 'pretty'. In recent years, it has emerged as a gender-neutral alternative to more common spellings like Teagan.
