The morning star; he who knocks at the door
Derived from the Arabic root meaning to strike or knock, it traditionally refers to a night visitor or the morning star (Venus) that 'knocks' at the end of the night. It gained historical prominence through Tariq ibn Ziyad, the military leader who led the Umayyad conquest of Visigothic Hispania.
