Fairy queen or worthy of praise
Taniya is often considered a variant of Tanya, a Russian diminutive of Tatiana. It is also found in Sanskrit contexts where it can mean 'daughter' or 'belonging to the family'. In the West, it is frequently chosen as a modern, melodic alternative to more traditional Slavic forms.
