Fruitful or silent
Tacy is a rare diminutive of Anastasia, meaning 'resurrection,' or Eustacia, meaning 'fruitful.' Historically, it was also used as a nickname for the Latin 'tace,' meaning 'be silent,' often given to girls as a virtue name. It gained some literary recognition through the Betsy-Tacy book series.
