Surena is a name of ancient Persian origin, historically associated with the Parthian General Surena who defeated the Romans. It is derived from the Suren clan, one of the seven noble houses of the Parthian Empire. While traditionally masculine in history, its phonetic ending has led to its use as a feminine name in modern contexts.
