Auspicious, kind, or gracious
In Sanskrit, Shiva translates to 'the auspicious one.' It is the name of one of the principal deities of Hinduism, the Destroyer within the Trimurti, who represents both destruction and regeneration. While traditionally a masculine name in India, it is occasionally used as a unisex name in Western contexts.
