Shenae is a modern phonetic variant of the Irish name Sinead, which is the Irish form of Janet or Jane. It ultimately derives from the Hebrew name Yochanan, meaning 'God is gracious'. While it gained some visibility in the late 20th century, it remains a rare choice in the United States.
