Sharena is a modern elaboration of the Hebrew name Sharon, which refers to the fertile coastal plain in Israel. While Sharon was a mid-century favorite, Sharena emerged as a more rhythmic, feminine variant. It combines the biblical roots of the original with a more contemporary ending.
