Large, treeless grassy plain
Derived from the Spanish word 'sabana', referring to a tropical or subtropical grassland ecosystem. It entered the English language via Taino, an indigenous language of the Caribbean. While less common than the 'Savannah' spelling, it retains the same airy, nature-focused appeal.
