Sharp, bright, shining, or piercing
Derived from the Arabic root s-q-b, the name refers to something that is exceptionally bright or piercing, such as a star. In the Quran, it is used in the phrase 'al-najm al-thaqib' to describe a piercingly bright star that cuts through the darkness.
