Pious, righteous, or devout
Saliou is a West African form of the Arabic name Salih. It is widely used in Francophone African countries, particularly Senegal, and refers to a person who is virtuous and lives according to religious principles. In Islamic tradition, Salih was also the name of a prophet sent to the people of Thamud.
