Moon goddess or salt
Salene is a rare variant of Selene, the Greek personification of the moon. It may also be interpreted as a variation of the French name Celine or linked to the Latin word 'sal' meaning salt. The name carries a celestial and serene quality, though it remains quite uncommon in the United States.
