From the River Severn
Sabrena is a variant of Sabrina, which is the Latinized name for the River Severn in Wales. According to legend, the name originates from a princess named Sabrina who was drowned in the river, subsequently becoming its goddess. It has been used in English literature since the 16th century, most notably in Milton's Comus.
